You may give any amount you choose. The entire gift amount minus Paypal's processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per donation) will go to Scout's medical fund. Anything over the cost of his medical bills will be donated to the ASPCA. Please Note: As we are not listed as a non-profit (501 3c), everything given is considered a gift and not a write-off We are no longer accepting donations for Scout as his medical treatment has been paid off. If you have been inspired by his story, please give a local shelter near you what you would have given us. Shelters are always in need of donations (monetary, blankets, food, etc). =)

The Cause

Scout was a 2.5yr old domestic short hair cat that we adopted from Ft. Riley, KS on Memorial Day 2009. He was a human lover, PTSD therapy cat, slug finder, grass eater, bird watcher, and all around good kitty. So we were heart broken to suddenly find that he had leukemia with severe anemia at an emergency trip to the vets during which he nearly died. Thanks to a blood transfusion from a cat named Scrubs, he was given a few more weeks to be pampered like a king. And he sure was pampered with fresh tuna, steamed shrimp and even some whip cream (as it could do no more harm than the cancer). We managed to give him the best 2 weeks a cat could want before he left us. But because we thought with our hearts, we've accumulated medical bills over 2K. With student incomes, we will be hard pressed to pay them in time so we are organizing the Art-Raiser to help us with the bills while we grieve the loss of an amazing cat.
